Collection: Rescued & Reimagined — Sustainable Upcycled Art

Art That Gives Materials a Second Life

Every piece in this collection begins with something the world was ready to throw away — damaged books, worn leather, obsolete dictionaries, unloved vintage finds. Instead of ending up in landfill, these materials are transformed by hand into one-of-a-kind works of art.

At Echo Mines Studio, sustainability isn't a label — it's the foundation of how we work. We rescue, reclaim, and reimagine. Each piece carries the history of its past life alongside the beauty of its new one, embracing the Japanese philosophy of Wabi-Sabi: finding beauty in imperfection, wear, and the passage of time.

  • 🌿 Rescued from landfill — every piece uses materials that are damaged and would otherwise be discarded.
  • 📚 Vintage & Damaged second-hand books — mass-produced books such as medical books, dictionaries and encyclopaedias given a singular, irreplaceable new purpose as a bespoke art work.
  • Kintsugi-inspired — damaged areas celebrated with gold gilding rather than hidden.
  • 🔁 Reclaimed materials — vintage leather, reclaimed glass, Perspex, and found objects. No matter the damage or the state of an item, its cleaned and given TLC so it can be used again.
  • 🖐️ Entirely handmade — no two pieces are ever the same.

When you bring one of these pieces home, you're not just buying art — you're choosing to value what others overlooked.
