Hide Behind These Hands
These gloves were produced as a colab with Rebecca Lachance for the Buzz Jam Exhibition being held in Leighton Buzzard in Oct 2025
These gloves
tell the tale of a jaded America actress in foreign lands, in times where
steamships were the only form of travel to start a new life somewhere
else. But she finds that things are not
how she would wish them to be, she is insecure, knows she has to behave in an
expected way. She has to mask who she is
and how she feels, she needs to put on a performance but really, she just wants
the hide behind her hands, to escape from her world. Where she might disappear
to if given the chance.
Some 100 yrs later her kidskin gloves end up
in an antique shop in London, battered and worn, the artist sees the history
and a life in the gloves, then paints a portrait on them that could just be her
hiding behind her hands.

This is a refurbished vintage leather motorbike jacket.
I wanted to challenge myself to see if I could paint an X-ray image. I also painted dandelions, this was because I remember hearing a quote about how you can look at a field of dandelions and see a field of weeds or a field of wishes. In the UK children are encouraged to blow on dandelion clocks and make a wish, so the quote is challenging your perspective of the world.

Ghost Rider Up Cycled Motorbike Jacket
This is a refurbished jacket dated approx. from 1980's and has now has a hand painted Marvels Ghost Rider style illustration on the back.

The Killing Joke
This was the first time of leather painting on a repurposed motorbike jacket. I have been a life long Batman fan and used the icon image of The Joker from the Killing Game comic book to do a piece of fan art.
Willow Pattern 1950's Hand Painted Ice Skates
I found a pair skates at a local boot sale and my daughter and I were discussing how the colour of the boots looked like old plates, to which my daughter suggested I try to paint them with the Willow pattern, both boots were painted and given wood display stands
