This is a hardback 1st edition 2nd print run of Philip Pullmans' Book Called The Book Of Dust, Volume 1 La Belle Sauvage .
The book has a version of the front cover painted on the fore edge. The fore edge has been painted with the concept of not having the dust cover on the book, so the scene looks like there are stars above them in the boat. The book cover will be sent with the book in case you wish to use it.
Watercolour, fine liners, copper leaf and Copic pens have been used to create this little work of art. The watercolour painting has been sealed and will not come off on your hands and the book is still readable. One edge has copper leaf wording of The Book and the opposite end has copper leafed words of Dust.
Most the books shown in my store have been created using damaged book, obsolete or second-hand books, With reclaimed glass or Perspex dependant upon the book. Every book is unique and different and you will not find another one the same. Every book is picked because of one or many of the following things such as the illustrations, the patina and or wear and tear and are seen as part of the art work and not an imperfection or a fault.

Even though the painting has been designed around the book not having the book cover, I will still send the book cover in case you wish to use it. The book seems that it has not been read but has not been stored very well as there is a little damage to the cover and a slight bowing to the covers but this is very minor.
Free postage worldwide, all items are tracked when posted. Returns are accepted but and any postage costs for returns will be needed to be paid for by the buyer and will need to have a tracking number as I will not be held responsible for any losses.
