So what is a book carving or a altered book?

There is a world of wonder inside a book which vanishes from sight when that book is closed. But I enjoy bringing the story out. Do you know thousands of books end up in landfill every day because old books cannot be recycled because we do not know what chemicals have been used to make them. Books get stored badly, go out of date and get damaged. So using these books and second hand books I make the world of the book come out and turn it into a unique piece of art.
